It was hopeless, you see. The demons had overwhelmed our ranks in that battle, and there was no way to salvage the situation. So they asked for volunteers.

Told us that there were 'innocents' trapped behind enemy lines. Innocents that could have turned the tide of the war. We had heard hints, though, that there was another pretext in sending us.

Apparently we knew too much of the Academy's failures - too much to be allowed to live.

And so we left, each one of us eager to help. Except there was no one left in that hell. Only barrels of fire-oil and gunpowder. I must admit though, the mannequins were a nice touch.

I lost them all that day. Echon, Jaris...even sweet Peria.

My friends...my friends! We trusted each other and the Academy! And for what?

So that they could die in someone else's schemes, as someone else's pawns?!

I watched them die, girl! And I will always remember them!

But...you saved so many lives! You are a hero...aren't you?

We saved nothing, foolish girl! Nothing!

Whatever you learned at the Academy was a lie built on even more lies! The only ones who survived were Academy lickspittles and cowards alike!

That's where I met you...as you bled your life away.
