I'm sure you at least have some guesses as to why we're here.

The source behind all the destruction in this world is that huge machine.

And not only that, but that thing is just one of the "Divine Machines."

Yes, they are tasked with protecting this world...

...but for that they need to regulate the power to summon, essentially making them what sustains the source behind our Summoning Arts.

It seems they've been on a rampage for quite some time.

They sustain the power used for summoning...?

But if that's the case, then that's really bad!

You guys tore that machine to pieces...

...and then it disappeared after it came back to life! Just like that!

Yeah, which means that we didn't beat that thing at all.

Actually, I doubt any living human would be able to really destroy it anyway.

If anything, all we did was revert it to its original state.

Revert it to its original state? But I thought we were just fighting it...

Well, we did gain a bit of our summoning power back after fighting it.

Which means that if you weaken these things, they start turning back into their old selves.

Which is exactly what happened with this one.

How much did you know this whole time?! And if you knew so much, why did you act alone?!

Hmph. I actually realized it the moment I learned this world was being destroyed.

Think about it. A force great enough to destroy an entire world.

There's no way it's not connected to summoning.

But if that machine reverted back to its original self, then how come you still can't use all of your summoning powers?

...that's probably because...there are still others out there. Other "Divine Machines" running amuck.

The power we use for summoning is concentrated in this world.

And while some of it is being regulated properly...

...the rest of the power still running rampant out there is probably getting even more out of hand.

Does that mean that if things get even more out of control, we won't be able to use summoning at all? Not even in Elgaia or Grand Gaia?

The best outcome would be...summoning disappearing altogether.

But wait, how come that guardian turned into something...

...that wanted to destroy its own world?

...who knows. I don't really have an answer for that.

It could have something to do with the destruction of Karna Masta, or some other completely unrelated reason.

Well, if they're called the "Divine Machines..."

...then they may have divine powers that can seal gods away.

Maybe their powers weakened after Karna Masta was destroyed...

...and then became corrupted by the gods they may have sealed?

Maybe. But I do feel like we're closing in on the key behind the power of summoning.

I think it's safe to say that we're getting closer to our goal.

We probably stalled the Abel Faction a bit too.

From now on, we just have to search for other worlds on the brink of destruction.

If we do that, there's a pretty good chance that we'll run into more of these "broken" Divine Machines.

If we're able to revert them back to their original state...

...we might be able to finally stabilize our summoning powers.

To make a long story short...

We'd finally unlock the power source of our Summoning Arts.

Hans, we already fixed one of the Divine Machines together.

Don't you dare back out of this mission later on.

Just keep training for now until our next destination has been confirmed.

You won't be able to take on whatever comes next in your current condition.

I'm starting to think that the Summoners of Old sent you here...

...to purposely involve you in this whole mess.

Summoners' Hall can sure be underhanded sometimes...

I'm really glad that Lugi turned out to be okay! But I guess our journey isn't over yet.

I think things will be difficult without being able to use summoning properly and all...

But I can't complain about sharing another adventure with Hans!

I did not expect to hear results this quickly.

We can expect to see a full frontal assault from Summoners' Hall soon enough.
